Had an opportunity to check out a Beatles exhibition at Huashan 1914 Cultural Park. I haven’t been to many exhibitions here, but the ones I have have been pretty fun; this one was no exception.
The exhibition is running from December 18th, 2014 until March 9th, 2015. Tickets are fairly priced and you can also rent a small audio aid to help you learn and listen as you go along the different rooms representing different eras, records, and time periods in the Beatles existence.
My favorite photo of George Harrison can be found near the beginning of the exhibition. Poor George, you’re still great.
The exhibition continued to a second floor that was more of a packed decoupage wall of many headlines and articles that were written about the Beatles and various members of the band followed by a stark white room that only held a white piano, round sunglasses, and a lone guitar. The contrast between the 2 rooms was a great transition to see how much they were in the limelight compared to what they a few of them sought after.
The second to last room was full of Beatles memorabilia from action figures to uniquely shaped vinyl and instruments.
The second floor exhibition finished with a large black and white room that had a recreation of their famous first US live performance on the Ed Sullivan show. On the other wall there was a movie looping that you could just sit in the room, relax and enjoy.
At the end of the exhibition, and connected to the entrance, was a special vinyl shop which you could peruse at your leisure and possibly find something of interest.
