How often is it that you run into a band with 2 bassists and 5 singers? This band, much like ADG7, take inspiration from a traditional form of storytelling from Korea, but unlike ADG7 who use traditional instruments like the zithers (gayageum and ajaeng), reed flute(piri), bamboo flute (daegeum), janggu drums and other percussion, Leenalchi uses modern rock instruments.
Leenalchi are an alternative pop band that sing verses from the traditional tale, Sugungga. The story tells of a dragon king from the Southern Sea, a softshell turtle and a wily rabbit.Self-introduction
The story’s background beats and bass draw inspiration from 80’s new wave while the performers build excitement by destroying and re-arranging traditional elements.
